Annual Sikh Day parade in NY draws thousands

The annual Sikh Day Parade in New York City brought together thousands of Sikhs from the city and surrounding areas on April 28.
It was organized to mark the day of Vaishakhi, when the tenth Sikh guru created the Khalsa Panth, or the community of initiated Sikhs.

FL Governor breaks ground on Indian American-owned $20 million hotel

Florida Gov. Rick Scott was the chief guest at the ground-breaking ceremony on April 4, of a new hotel being built by Indian American entrepreneur and Republican fundraiser, Danny Gaekwad in Ocala, FL. The new construction is a $20-million, five-story, 107-room hotel that will rise soon on a 1.1-acre lot.
