After the tragic mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the City of Parkland organized vigil and counseling session at Pine’s Trail Part for the school students and parents.

On Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2018, a horrible tragedy took place in Parkland. A shooter shot 17 people including 15 students and 2 adults and injured many. This tragedy shocked up the entire state and the country where a student just randomly killed so many people, leaving so many hearts bleeding. On a day when love is celebrated, everybody experienced so much hate. At Pine’s Trail Park in Florida, a counselling centre was set up to provide counselling for grieving students and
parents. Many in the area are finding it hard to believe what happened.

Aman Singh, an eyewitness to the horrible tragedy shared his experience. He said when they initially heard two loud bangs, they thought that someone was playing pranks but then realized that it was actually happening for real. They started to take cover and the shooter shot through the glass to the walls and shot 5 people in his class and killed 4. Aman is shaken up by the whole incident and came to the grief counseling centre to help him recover from the incident.

Though the counselling centre and support from City and community are helping students and parents to recover, their loss is irreparable.
