TV Asia hosted an informational session on “Financial Planning While in Green Card Backlog,” at its auditorium in Edison, NJ on April 5. The panelists included Rani Emandi of Emandi Law Firm; Ajay Kumar, CPA; Bish Mazumdar of Lion Mortgage; Abhishek Bais, MIT graduate currently in Green Card backlog; and TV Asia host Sanjiv Pandya. The hourlong discussion was taped live in presence of an engaging live audience.

The Green Card backlog mostly affects India-born applicants who usually have to wait years because of per country immigrant visa limits before they can receive their employment or family-based Green Cards.

The panelists addressed several financial issues experienced by Green Card applicants, including tax and investment planning and home ownership.
