The Austin Hindu Temple and Community Center held its Annual Fund Raising Gala recently. The special multi-lingual musical night was arranged as part of the event. A well-known singer like Sumangali and local talents were part of the function. The artists performed songs from various regional languages.
The primary intention of the event was to raise funds to build a Rajagopuram that completes the main Hindu Temple. It is an expensive multi-year and multi-dollar project. The approximate cost is estimated to be around 3.5 Million Dollars. Currently, the Gopuram which is said to be forty feet structure is in final stages of constructions.
The most critical aspect of Austin Hindu Temple and Community Center’s (AHT) is to spread Hinduism among the Indian community across the language and cultural barriers. And also to educate children about the rich heritage so that it passes to the future generation.
