On the occasion of Diwali, Indian seniors of Chicago (ISC) held their 14th Annual Diwali Celebration. The gala was held at Maha Laxmi auditorium at Manav Seva Mandir. More than 525 members graced the occasion.
Shri Hirabhai Patel on behalf of Executive Committee welcomed and thanked all for joining the occasion. The program kicked off by traditional Lamp Lighting ceremony and was followed by some mesmerizing performances.
Chief Guest Shri Chhotalal Patel shared his experiences and mentioned that this is their responsibility to connect this generation to the upcoming generation, thus making their life worthful.
The ISC members also showcased their talent and everyone cherished and enjoyed the nostalgic musical evening. The seniors proved that age is just a number and shook their legs on impromptu Bollywood dance numbers. The excellent presentation of the meet, greet and fun-filled evening finally ended in late hours of the night.
Indian Seniors of Chicago is a registered not for profit organization. It is the brainchild of founding and pillar member Dr. Narsinhbhai Patel, started in the year 2001. The organization's primary goal is to give a social platform for our senior Diaspora to congregate periodically, help organize cultural activities including monthly meetings, presentation of informational seminars, arranging visitation to exciting places, picnics, group travel to local and international destinations. The organization gives special consideration to widowed spouses of deceased single seniors to help them address their risk of developing depression due to lonesomeness and isolation.
