South Asian Mental Health Initiative and Network (SAMHIN) annual day event named “An Evening Of Gratitude” was held in Guru Palace in North Brunswick of New Jersey, recently. It is conducted to celebrate the completion of four years of SAMHIN and express gratitude to the supporters to for being part all through. Several community leaders and inspiring personalities were part of the event.
Dr. Vasudev N Makhija, Founder, and President of SAMHIN spoke to TV Asia and expressed his views and goals of the organization. He said that eradication of stigma associated with mental illness was a top priority. Another essential point emphasized was to develop programmes like done previously to help people recover from alcohol addiction and tobacco use and smoking. Dr.Vasudev ended the conversation by thanking everyone for attending the event and making it a success.
South Asian Mental Health Initiative and Network (SAMHIN), is a non-profit organization founded by Dr.Vasudev N Makhija. Its purpose is to improve the Mental Health issues through education and awareness and provide care to the needy in the South Asian community.
