Half Widow had a star-studded premiere are the 14th Annual South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF). It is a poignant tale of Kashmiri girl whose life is shattered when her husband is taken away. It is the story of triumph over tragic events which are told in a very heartfelt manner.
The aim of Half Widow was not just to narrate a tale, but also bring back cinema in the Kashmir valley. The movie features an all Kashmir cast, is shot entirely in the valley, and is directed by a Kashmiri, Danish Renzu. Half Widow is an unexplored subject says the director. The prominent cast and crew of the movie shared their happiness to be part of the film.
Neelofar Hamid, a lead in Sundance Award-winning film A Valley Of Saints, Shahnawaz Bhat of Harud fame, and Mir Sarwar were the main cast of the movie. Danish Renzu apart from direction also provided the story and screenplay along with Gaya Bhola. Half Window is winning a lot of acclaim across the film festivals.
