Indo-American Friendship Forum Foundation (IAFFF) held a felicitation ceremony in Seattle recently. It was conducted with an aim to honor the Indo-American political leaders. It also celebrated the success of women leaders in the Indo-American communities.
Many elected leaders from the surrounding areas attended the event. The three important ones were Pramila Jayapal, US Representative, Washington’s 7th Congressional District, Vandana Slatter, Washington State Representative, and Derek Stanford, State Representative, 1st District Washington. They all emphasized the importance of participation of community members in knowing and trying to be an active part of the government. Over three hundred people were reported to attend the function.
The Chairman and Chairperson of Indo-American Friendship Forum Foundation (IAFFF), Sudhakar Shetty, and Jagadish Sharma, respectively, also were present at the dinner. IAFFF was found twenty years ago to encourage the participation of Indians in the social and political fabric of mainstream America. It also promoted the trade and cultural relations between the two largest democracies of the world.
