The United States has a tradition of lighting a Christmas Tree at Washington DC each holiday season. It is happening since years, and it was no different this year at President’s Park, DC, where the Christmas Tree was lighted. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump lit the tree at the Presidents Park.
The National Christmas Tree is surrounded by multiple small rows of trees with dazzling lights. It was an impressive display that left everyone awestruck. The feeling of the festive season among the community members reaches a peak with shows like this that make them thrilled across the country. Everyone is now waiting for the arrival of 2018.
While the National Christmas Tree existed for a very long time, it became a symbol of people and event starting from 1954. The Washington Board Of Trade and Washington’s Citizen Committee turned it into a symbol of peace and hope among the Americans. It came to be alternatively known as the Christmas Pageant of Peace.
