South Asian Community Outreach has a tradition of building strong relationships between the growing South Asian Community and the Community at large. At the organization’s 6th Annual Interfaith Holiday celebration held at Royal Albert Palace in New Jersey gave a perfect confirmation of it. The aim was to bridge the gap between communities and faiths through the joy and spirit of the holiday season.
Sam Khan, Chairman, SACO emphasized that the mission is to bring South Asian Community on one platform and reach out to mainstream America. Dr. Nimisha Shukla, President, SACO stressed that “We are the next chapter of immigration history here. Our contribution to Medicine, Information Technology, Finance and other important fields, it is the time that we write our own chapter of South Asian American history.”
The party was started with the prayers by religious leaders from different faiths including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and Islam. This was followed by felicitation ceremony where many esteemed personalities including CEO & Chairman, TV Asia, Padma Shri HR Shah were rewarded and honored for their noble contributions to Community. Padma Shri HR Shah said that it was a very prestigious award for him and he appreciates and congratulates SACO members and conveyed his best wishes for Christmas.
Ms. Seema Jagtiani shared that “Our mission in to unite all SAARC countries so that we all live in peace and harmony.” Anshuman Sehgal, Treasurer, SACO said: “It’s a great organization to be associated with bringing all the South Asian Communities together and merging us into the mainstream America.” The event also showcased splendid cultural program mesmerizing the audience.
Viru Patel, Councilman, Woodbridge Township congratulated and thanked the organizers especially Mr. Sam Khan for the huge event. Sam Thompson, Senator, 12th Legislative District (New Jersey), said that it’s a tremendous affair and appreciated Mr. Sam Khan for his contribution. The delightful evening came to an end with guest enjoying and feasting on Indian cuisine.
