9th Indian Film Festival, Houston

The festival presented feature films, documentaries and short films at Asia Society Texas Center. The 2-day festival received over 120 submissions but only 6 were chosen due to limited time, shared Sutapa Ghosh, Founder IFFH.

The festival also screened an intriguing story of Mango Dreams, story of Hindu doctor with dementia and a Muslim auto driver and there
unlikely friendship, directed by John Upchurch.

It also screened Leftovers, the story of 2 women who left their reputed jobs to open up makeshifts schools in the heart of Mumbai
slums. The movies took no time to touch audience heart and kept them captivated.
