Venkee Sharma, the chief executive officer of Canonsburg, PA-based Aquatech International, has been appointed to the U.S.–India CEO Forum. Wilbur Ross, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, made the announcement recently.

The forum is designed to foster dialog between the U.S. and India that would strengthen economic and commercial relationships.

Ross will co-chair the forum with Suresh Prabhu, India’s minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation.

Sharma, who will serve a two-year term, said in a news release: “It is an honor to be part of this CEO forum, which plays an important role in encouraging economic opportunities and strengthening important business relationships in both our countries.”
