Venkatesh is currently acting as a coach in the film Guru. His character trains a girl and makes her a champion.

In the original the character of the girl belongs to a slum and she is shown as a fan of hero Dhanush. In the Telugu remake the same character has been turned into a Pawan Kalyan fan. Rithika who played the female boxer in the original is reprising her role in Telugu too. And that’s how Venkatesh gets to coach a Powerstar fan.

For the scenes showcasing Rithika as a Powerstar fan cutouts of the star from Gabbar Singh were used. The shooting of the film is currently happening in Vizag. Guru is expected to arrive on January 26, 2017.
