SKN Foundation gala in NJ highlights diabetes epidemic

Shri Krishna Nidhi (SKN) Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote total wellness of the person and community through education, hosted its annual gala at the Marigold in Somerset, NJ on Sept. 28.
The event highlighted the South Asian Diabetes Education and Resource Center in NJ, which develops awareness and outreach programs on various chronic illnesses, beginning with a diabetes risk assessment in the South Asian community.
Vikas Khanna, celebrity chef, restaurateur and cookbook author, along with Charlie Kimball, IndyCar series driver with type 1 diabetes, and celebrity host and Indian actress, Mandira Bedi were the special guests at the event.
