Red carpet screening of 'Hotel Mumbai' hosted in New York

A red carpet screening of Hotel Mumbai, based on the 2008 terror attacks in India’s financial capital, was hosted March 17 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Movie lead Dev Patel, the 28-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, walked the red carpet in a navy suit and brown turtleneck. Patel, Patel, who was born and raised in England by Gujarati parents from India, was joined at the event by co-star Armie Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers. Fellow costars at the screening included Nazanin Boniadi, Jason Isaacs, and Bollywood’s Anupam Kher.

Other stars at the event included Damian Lewis along with Anupam Kher’s New Amsterdam co-star Ryan Eggold.

After the screening, the cast headed over to the Times Square EDITION hotel for a reception.

Hotel Mumbai, opening March 29, takes place at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, one of the sites of the attacks, with Patel playing a fictional waiter, Arjun, working under head chef and real-life hero Hemant Oberoi (played by Anupam Kher). The staff risks their lives to save their guests, which in the film includes a newly-wed couple (Armie Hammer and Nazanin Boniadi), their infant baby, their nanny (Tilda Cobham-Hervey) and a Russian businessman (Jason Isaacs).
